The Humboldt High School Music Department is thrilled to present their annual Christmas Concert on Monday, December 17, at 7:00 PM in the R. Wesley Carlson Auditorium.  The concert features the High School Concert Band, Women’s Chorus and Concert Chorale. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear your favorite holiday music and support your favorite high school musicians. Admission is only $3 for adults, and $2 for students.  See you there!

Local Book Signing & Art Sale
Dec 21 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

There will be a local book signing and art sale at the Humboldt and Dakota City Chamber and Welcome Center at 604 Sumner Avenue in Humboldt. Carolyn Saul Logan will be signing her book titled “Humboldt History in the News” and her artwork will be on display from Tuesday, December 18th through Friday, December 21st. Books will also be available for purchase at that time.

Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Homecoming

Come celebrate all of the efforts Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church have made in our community, as well as, world-wide reach.  On Sunday, January 13th, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, there will be games for kids, prizes and a meal will be served.  Rides will be available to and from the event.  Please call the church to schedule transportation at 515-332-3438.

Soup Supper
Feb 15 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Come out to the Humboldt Lion’s Club soup supper.  They will be serving Chicken Noodle and Chili soup on Friday night February 15th from 5-7pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.  The cost is $8 for adults and $4 under 12 years old.  The proceeds will go to help the Humboldt Community Animal Shelter.  Get your tickets from any Lion’s member. Carry outs are also available.

Taco Supper

Humboldt County 4H Shooting Sports is having a Taco Supper on Saturday, February 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt.  This is a free will donation event with proceeds going for expenses for Morgan Lange and Lexi Lange who will be attending the air rifle competition at 4H Nationals in Grand Island, NE in June.

Jarod Reitz Benefit

A benefit for Jarod Reitz, who is battling stage 3 metastatic melanoma, is scheduled for Friday, February 22nd from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at the Pocahontas County Expo Center located at 310 Northeast 1st street in Pocahontas. All proceeds from the benefit with help with insurance payments, travel expenses and any bills that pile up in his absences from work. There will be food and Mojo productions will provide the entertainment. Jarod’s family is also looking for donations for an auction for the event and asks that you please call Stormi Schoon at 515-408-2860.

Humboldt High School “Supper & Song”
Feb 28 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

The Humboldt School Vocal Music Department and the Humboldt Music Boosters will present an evening of “Supper & Song” on Thursday, February 28.  The Supper will be served in the high school cafeteria from 5:00 to 6:45 pm.  The menu for the evening will be Spaghetti. Assorted cookies and bars will be available for dessert.  There is a free will offering for the meal. 

 

Following the meal, the 7:00 PM concert will include performances by the 6th Grade Chorus, 7/8 Grade Chorus, High School Women’s Chorus, Jazz Choir, and Concert Chorale.  Concert selections will include spirituals, folk, movie themes, musicals, popular music (past and present), and multi-cultural music. The concert features several student solos. The audience will enjoy the performances and mixture of musical styles. Concert admission is $3 adults and $2 students.  Don’t miss this fabulous concert!
