St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus will have a Lenten Fish Fry every Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm during Lent at St. Mary’s School Gym in Humboldt March 8th thru April 19th. The menu consists of Fried fish, Baked or French fried potatoes, Cole slaw, Texas toast, desserts and beverage. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available from any Knights of Columbus member or at the door. Carryout is available on the north side of the building.
There will be a bake sale on Friday, March 22 from 9:00 am to noon at the Humboldt Care Center North in the conference room. Proceeds will be donated to Carol Capesius, the Director of Nursing at the care center. Carol is being treated for brain cancer at Mayo Clinic. Donations may be dropped off at the care center.

A fundraiser for Abbey McBurney (Ruiter) will be held on Saturday, March 30 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Rides Bar & Grill in Fort Dodge. Abbey was diagnosed earlier this year with cervical cancer and has begun treatment at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. There will be a silent auction, raffle and bake sale. A freewill donation meal will be served. All funds raised will go to offset medical and travel expenses.
The Humboldt China Painters will held their Spring Egg Show “Tickled Pink” from 9 to 11:30 am on Saturday, April 13 at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. New this year will be a special program featuring the Teapot Choir from Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Callender, Iowa. They will perform at 10:00 am making music from unique teapots. This event is free and coffee and bars will be provided and there will also be a silent auction.
Mark your calendars for Renwick’s Spring Craft and Vendor Bazaar April 13th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Community Center and Fire Shed in Downtown Renwick. Food will be available with lots of door prizes. This event is free to the public.
The Humboldt High School Music Department proudly presents Soundsations 2019, “Stars On Stage” on Saturday, April 13, at 7:00 P.M. in the R.W. Carlson Auditorium. Many fantastic acts will grace the stage of this year’s show. The show will feature twenty winning acts, all student led, and the High School Jazz Band, Jazz Choir and Concert Chorale will fill out the show with some modern pop and jazz. Enjoy homemade pie and coffee at intermission, provided by the Humboldt Music Boosters and parents. Admission to the show is $3 for adults, and $2 for students. Tickets will be available at the door.
Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church is having their annual Abelskivers Breakfast on Sunday, April 14 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am in the church Fellowship Hall. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
The annual Humboldt/Dakota City Noon Kiwanis Roast Beef Dinner will be held on Sunday, April 14 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The meal includes roast beef on bread with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, dessert and drink. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under. Carryout meals are available. All funds raised go to support youth and families in the community and to Kiwanis Christmasland.
The Fort Dodge Area Symphony will have their season finale concert featuring winners of the annual Young Artists Competition The concert is titled “Youthful Exuberance” and will take place on Sunday, April 14 at 3:00 pm at the Fort Dodge Middle School at 800 N 32nd St in Ft Dodge. Ticket cost is $10 at the door.
