Miller-Meeks to Enter Iowa District 2 House Race

Former eye doctor Marianette Miller-Meeks is exploring a fourth run at a seat in Congress according to O. Kay Henderson of Radio Iowa.

Miller-Meeks ran against Democrat Dave Loebsack three times but was never elected. However, Loebsack is not running for re-election in 2020. Miller-Meeks has been a part of the Iowa State Senate and was just recently elected to a fourth term. However, she is exploring the option of running for Congress in 2020 and resigned from her seat on the Iowa Republican Party state central committee to not allow it to conflict with her campaign.

Miller-Meeks would join former Illinois Congressman Bobby Schilling who has already entered his name into the race in the Republican Primary.
