Iowa State to Host Ag Day For Iowa Farmers

Boone, IA — Iowa State will be presenting the Ag Engineering and Agronomy Farm Field Day Aug. 28 in Boone.

This event will give insight from experts about what the wet weather in Iowa means for farmers and how it will affect harvesting season in the fall. Events include topics like the challenging growing season, some equipment being used in action, and learning different ways to mitigate soil compaction. Featured speakers will be Mark Hanna who was an agricultural and biosystems engineering specialist with ISU extension and outreach, Dennis Todey who is the director of the Midwest Climate Hub at the US Department of Agriculture, and Daniel Robison who is the new chair of the college of agriculture and life sciences at Iowa State.

The event will begin at 8:30 with on-site registration with the programs running from nine to noon and lunch included. Attendees can receive 2.5 soil and water certified crop adviser continuing education units for attending.
