Humboldt, IA — The Humboldt County Relay for Life is today, Friday, at the Humboldt High School track.

This year’s honorees are Kylee Myott of Humboldt and Renee Anliker of Renwick. The Relay for Life foundation raises money to help support those battling cancer. Humboldt County Relay for Life committee member Amy Nostrom says it’s important to recognize caregivers, “as they play an important role in the care and recovery of cancer patients.”

Pre-registration for teams and survivors is at 5:30 P.M. at Humboldt High School. The opening ceremony and national anthem will begin at 6 P.M. and the survivor ceremony and victory lap is at 6:15. There will be an auction of donated items at 6:30.

Honoree and cancer survivor Kylee Myott says she loves “to see everyone come together to celebrate cancer survivors, or remember those who are no longer with us.” Myott’s advice to those fighting cancer in Humboldt County is to “keep a positive attitude.”
