Humota Fundraiser Has Success Despite Weather

Humboldt, IA — Weather played a factor in the showing of the Jason Brown concert that benefited the Humota theaterS fundraiser.

The concert was scheduled to be on Sumner Ave. in downtown Humboldt but rain moved the concert indoors to Gordy’s at Rustix. Speaking with Board President Chad Theesfeld he says that it wasn’t their first option to move the event into Rustix but instead the Humboldt High School gym. When asked about the fundraising goal, Theesfeld went onto say he was happy with the turnout under the circumstances but doesn’t plan to have outright fundraising event for some time.

The public can still make donations on the Humota Theater Facebook or stop by their location on Sumner Ave. to drop off a check. The goal for the Humota is $150,000 and currently is at a little over $50,000 according to Theesfeld after the concert.
