Clarion, IA — It was a little bit of a lull to start the game but once the 4th inning rolled around the offense came in bunches for the Humboldt baseball team as they clobbered Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 13-5.

The Wildcats grab their first conference win of the season after losing to Hampton-Dumont earlier this week. Sawyer Savery had the highlight of the night with a deep 3-run home run in the 6th. His first of the season. Hudson Gargano pitched 5 strong innings (5IP, 4H, 4R, 3 ER, 1BB, 10K) while also driving in 2 runs on the offensive side.

Michael Brightly had 2 RBIs of his own as Humboldt improves to 7-3 and play on the road tonight at Boone (5-4) at 7:30.
