Fort Dodge, IA — Good news for bargain grocery shoppers as the Aldi in Fort Dodge is open today after finishing its overhaul renovation.

At the corporate level Aldi has rolled out the renovations nationally in the U.S. investing close to $2 billion along with expanding the size of stores as well. Fort Dodge’s Aldi will be between 20% and 25% larger than before after purchasing space previously used by a Dollar General which has allowed for the project to expand the parking lot to go along with the bigger store.

Aldi will once again compete with the Wal-Mart and Target in the area for shoppers, and according to Forbes magazine, this investment by Aldi will go through 2022 to create 2500 more stores in the U.S. to make it the 3rd largest grocery store chain only behind Wal-Mart and Kroger.
