Ames, Iowa — On Friday, the Iowa State Women’s golf team was awarded the Kim Moore Spirit Award.

This annual award is given by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association, which is dedicated to Kim Moore. Moore played golf at the University of Indianapolis and a statement issued by Iowa State says “Moore was an inspiration to all as she persevered through many physical challenges while playing collegiate golf.”

Last year, the Cyclones withdrew from a golf tournament to fly back to Ames to mourn the loss of their teammate, Celia Barquin Arozamena, who made national headlines in September of last year when she was murdered while playing a round of golf.
