Arnolds Park, Iowa — Vintage music collectors, now is your chance to become a part of Iowa history.

The historic Roof Garden Ballroom is encouraging Iowans to donate memorabilia “to help illustrate the storied history of the music venue.” According to a press release issued Monday, the park is looking for interior photographs of the original Roof Garden (which opened in 1923 and closed in 1987,) advertising flyers from the 1950s-80s, signs, promotional items, musical instruments, and any “house band” items relating to the 1920s, 30s, and 40s.

Arnolds Park Amusement Park CEO Jeff Vierkant says the park will accept donations of any of these items through June 15th. Donors will have the opportunity to get back certain items – such as personal photographs.

If you’re interested in donating, or have any questions, contact Jeff Vierkant at (712) 334-2183.

The Roof Garden Ballroom will have its grand re-opening celebration on August 2nd with musical guest Tommy James & The Shondells, who performed at the original ballroom in 1966.
