Des Moines, Iowa — U.S. Senators Jodi Ernst (R-IA) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) are encouraging Iowans to participate in National Drug Take Back Day Saturday April 27th.

Senator Grassley said in a press release issued Wednesday that National Drug Take Back Day “offers a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused and expired prescription drugs.” In 2018, Drug Take Back Day in Iowa had the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) organizing nearly 6,000 collection sites in Iowa. 88 law enforcement officers worked at 128 collection sites and collected nearly 11,000 pounds of prescription drugs.
