Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved the second reading of County Ordinance #69 — an animal protection ordinance, at their meeting on  Monday.

According to the board, the ordinance reading they approved featured no changes from the first reading, but did not elect to waive the third and final reading.

Supervisor chair Dave Lee was meeting with residents from Bode regarding the ordinance later that Monday. The board did not want to hamstring themselves if they did indeed want to make changes within the language of the proposed ordinance.

The third reading is expected to be held at next Monday’s meeting.
