Humboldt, Iowa — An unknown person was charged following an odd single-vehicle accident reported in Humboldt County.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department reported the accident taking place on Sunday near Lone Tree Road in Humboldt County.
According to the report, the vehicle was eastbound on 230th Street and attempted to turn southbound on Lone Tree Road. The vehicle lost control and entered the east ditch, striking a stop sign and a post in the ditch, causing minor damage to the vehicle.
The driver attempted to free the vehicle from the ditch, but became stuck in the snow. The accident was not reported to law enforcement.
The vehicle was then towed and later contact was made with the owner. The owner then refused to identify the drive of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The owner was cited for failure to identify the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident and released with a future court date.
