Humboldt, Iowa — A Humboldt man was charged with two driving related citations, following a two-vehicle accident Friday, according to the Humboldt Police Department.

The accident took place near US Highway 169, 13th Street South and and Sumner Avenue.

Officer Susan Rutz met with Don Kenne, 78 of Humboldt, who told police he was hit broadside by Cory Brockman, 36 of Humboldt.

Kenne told police he was traveling north on 169 when Brockman pulled away from the stop sign, hitting him on the passenger side.

Brockman told law enforcement he was stopped at the stop sign facing west. He also stated he did not see Kenne’s vehicle — but did say he saw Kenne’s turn signal on — so he proceeded from the stop sign, striking Kenne’s vehicle on the passenger side.

Brockman was charged with Failure to Obey Stop Sign and Yield Right of Way.

Neither party was injured in the accident.
