Humboldt Supervisors Hear Update from ISU Extension Office

Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors met with Jerry Chizek and company, representing the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office, at their meeting on Monday.

Chizek gave the board an update on the past calendar year’s activities and the impact they made on the community.

Here are the salient points from the board’s meeting with Chizek:

  • 239 pesticide and manure applicators received their annual re-certification by attending the training session with ISU extension here in Humboldt County.
  • The Board was very pleased with the several K-12 programs completed as well, including:
    • Safety Day Camp
    • Region 7 Youth Environmental Ag Day
    • On Their Own and OK
  • Health Outcomes Rank in 2018 (22nd out 99)

There was no other official board action taken on the matter on Monday.
