Sergeant Bluff, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat basketball (8-11) will have their work cut out for them tonight as they trek west to battle with #1 Sergeant Bluff-Luton (16-3) in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs.

By virtue of losing 10 of their last 13, the Wildcats were saddled with embarking two hours west to square off with the state’s best 3A team.

Humboldt had both of their last two games cancelled due to wintry weather so they should feel well rested in lieu of tonight’s game.

The Warriors score the basketball very well finishing the 2018-19 regular season #3 in scoring in Class 3A averaging 70.7 point per game, trailing only Gilbert and Storm Lake.

Humboldt’s hallmark has been their defense which finished 16th overall in Class 3A, yielding 53.16 points per game.

Tonight’s contest will be played at 6:30 p.m. and you can hear all the action right here on the Bolt.

The other game at SB-L tonight is MOC Floyd-Valley vs. Spencer, they are scheduled to tip off at 8:00 p.m.
