Humboldt, Iowa — The Upper Des Moines Opportunity and Outreach program tells KHBT that the Low Income Energy Assistance Program is still on-going and those with concerns should apply at the UDMO office.
The Low-Income Home Energy assistance Program has been established to help low-income Iowa homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season.
Director Rebecca Jansen says that assistance is based on household income, household size, type of fuel and type of housing.
Individuals may apply on or after November 1st. To apply you can fill out the LIHEAP form at www.udmo.com/liheap.
Applications will be accepted up until April of 2019.
