Dakota City — A Badger women could be looking at upwards of 25 years in prison following a guilty plea in Humboldt County Court, Monday.
Trisha Dawn Luthro, 41, of Badger plead guilty to homicide by vehicle following a September 2017 crash that took the life of a 12-year-old Humboldt County boy.
Law enforcement officials say Luthro was driving under the influence of alcohol when she cross the center-line on Highway 3 in Humboldt County, hitting the vehicle driven by Kevin Ahlstrom of Dakota City.
A class “B” felony, Iowa Court records say Luthro will be facing a mandatory 25 year sentence. There is no possibility of probation with the charge of vehicular homicide while intoxicated.
Luthro will be back in Humboldt County Court on January 22nd, 2019.
