Humboldt, Iowa — Humboldt’s Quinton Orr became a star in the state running landscape, now the terrific sophomore may be making a splash in the region as well.
Orr placed third overall in the Nike Cross Country Regional Rising Stars race in Sioux Falls this past weekend.
Orr ran 16:25 to finish in 3rd place overall.
Just a few weeks removed from a second place finish in the State Cross Country championships, Orr competed in the regional event open for freshman and sophomores in the Midwest area.
Minnesotan Gabe Smit of Prior Lake High School won the Rising Stars event running 16:15.
Humboldt junior Bryce Gidel also competed in the race in Sioux Falls however in the open division. Gidel finished 72nd overall running 20:07.
