Humboldt, Iowa — Lucas Volf’s 42-yard field goal before the half last Friday was indeed a new school record, according to the Humboldt football record books.

Volf’s 42-yarder brought Humboldt within 10-9 last week vs. Spencer.

It was the new record by three yards. The previous record was held by Jon Gronbach who booted a 39-yarder in 1998 in a game versus Hampton-Dumont. Matt Carda was second previously, after kicking a 38-yarder in 2007 versus Algona.

Volf also tied the school record for most field goals in a game, with 2 — tying himself with Matt Carda and Matt Fehr.
