Humboldt, Iowa — Only minor injuries were reported as a result of a three-car accident that occurred in Humboldt County last Friday, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s reports.

According to the report, 61-year old Donnell Skow was stopped in the northbound lane of Highway 19 waiting to make a left turn when she was struck by 31-year old Kenneth Harris of Gilmore City, Iowa.

Harris was also driving northbound on Highway 169.

Harris told police he reached down to get his pop, which led him to strike the rear passenger’s side of Skow’s vehicle.

Skow’s vehicle then spun around, coming to a rest facing south in the southbound lane.

Harris’ vehicle then struck the third vehicle in the accident, driven by 22-year old Lindsey Johnson, of Humboldt.

Law enforcement says Johnson was stopped at the stop sign on 200th Street facing west. Johnson came to a rest north of the intersection on the east side of the road.

Johnson was taken to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
