Clear Lake, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat Cross Country team earned themselves a sweep of both the boys’ and girls’ titles at Clear Lake High School last night.
Bryce Gidel was crowned meet champion after running 19:34. Isabella Luu took 11th, while Elizabeth Hildreth placed 14th.
Humboldt’s first place finish was nearly 30 points better than second-place Mason City Newman Catholic who scored 89 points. Eagle Grove placed 3rd with 122 points.
On the boys side, Quinton Orr was the meet champion running 16:59, while Joe Kunert ran 17:49 placing 5th. Eric Wittrock placed 14th after running 18:21.
Humboldt bested Newman Catholic and South Hamilton in the victory.
The Wildcats will host the Humboldt High School Invitational, Monday.
