Supervisors Talk Animal Shelter After Committing $2,500 To New Facility

Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors as well as the City of Humboldt have each pledged $2,500 to a new animal shelter facility proposed near the Humboldt Industrial Park.

The lot is owned by Jim and Judy Gronbach, both of Humboldt.

This comes on the heels of both the city and county having to back out of a prior deal, which saw the proposed building being built near the Humboldt elevator, due to zoning issues.

Chairman Bruce Reimers says the new lot is zoned properly.

Reimers spoke to KHBT following Monday morning’s meeting.
