Humboldt, Iowa — A couple of familiar faces in the cross country landscape in Humboldt have been recognized for their ability in the preseason rankings.
Junior Bryce Gidel and sophomore Quinton Orr were both inside the top-15 in their respective classes in the most recent Iowa Run, Jump, Throw rankings.
Gidel is ranked 4th in the state in Class 3A for girls. Gidel is behind Adrianna Katcher of Center Point-Urbana, Mary Blanchard of Grinnell and Gabby Moran of Wahlert.
All but Moran are also juniors.
Orr sees his preseason rank sit at #11, just outside of the top-10. Orr, a sophomore, was spectacular in his debut season for Dean Clasen and company.
Orr is the second highest sophomore in the rankings, with only ADM’s Nate Mueller ahead. Rees Tyler of GIlbert is the boy’s #1.
