Humboldt Man Pronounced Dead Following Monday Car Accident

(KHBT) — One person is dead and another is seriously injured following a late Monday evening car accident near Badger, law enforcement officials say.

The Iowa State Patrol says David Fliehe of Humboldt was pronounced dead on the scene, when authorities arrived on County Road C56.

The accident occured around 11:45 p.m., Monday night.

The statement indicated that around that time, 24-year old Aisha Ismail of Fort Dodge was attempting to make a lane change on the single lane highway, when she collided with Fliehe’s Dodge Neon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Ismail was airlifted to the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

The crash remains under investigation.
