Storm Lake, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat baseball team finished their regular season 7-1, but saw their win streak come to a close last night at Storm Lake, 8-7.
Humboldt jumped out to a 7-3 lead, thanks in part to a six-run 4th inning.
The Tornadoes, however, would score the games final five runs to win.
Humboldt closes their regular season 17-14, as they being to prepare to take on Clear Lake in the first round of the baseball playoffs Friday in Webster City.
The Wildcats are likely to throw freshman right-hander Cade Witzke, Friday night.
Witzke has easily been Humboldt’s finest starter, working to the tune of a 3.39 ERA in nine total appearances. Friday’s game can be heard on the Bolt beginning at 4:45 p.m.
