Algona Auto-Dealer in Hot Water; Faces Eight Felonies

Algona, Iowa — A North Iowa auto-dealer is facing criminal charges after allegedly stealing “tens of thousands of dollars” according to KIMT CBS 3 out of Mason City.

The report indicates 56-year-old Scott Krause of Algona is facing four counts of 1st degree theft and three counts of second degree theft.

Krause is the owner and operator of McGregor & Dodge in Algona.

The indictment says Krause overcharged customers by nearly $19,000 in tax, title and licensing fees. He always was illegally selling vehicles that he still owed money on and could not sell without consent of the lender.

Krause is set to appear in court for the first time September 13th.
